    IIE (HK) Final Year Project Competition 2009/10 for Undergraduate Students

    To encourage undergraduate students to conduct and present outstanding final year projects in the field of industrial engineering, the Institute of Industrial Engineers (Hong Kong) is hosting the subject Competition in 2009/10. Three prizes as listed below will be presented awarded our Annual Dinner in June 2010:

    • Champion will receive a cash award of HK$ 2000 and a certificate plaque.
    • First runner-up will receive a cash award of HK$ 1000 and a certificate plaque.
    • Second runner-up will receive a cash award of HK$ 500 and a certificate plaque.

     

    For undergraduate students who are conducting final year projects in the field of industrial engineering, please kindly check with your project supervisor about this competition. You may click Rules of Competition to learn the eligibility, format, judging criteria, prize and submission method of the competition. For all eligible students, you refer to this Submission Form for preparing your executive summary for the projects. The deadline of submission is 5 June 2010.

    On February 25th and March 3rd, Mr. Harry Li, the president of IIE, visited The University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology respectively to promote our society to the undergraduate students. The aim of these promotions was to let more students understand the missions of our society and let them know what our society can offer during their college careers and after they are graduated.

    This forum is hosted by Department of Mechanical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prof. Alex Wai and Dr. Alan K.T.Lau will give the welcoming speech.

    This forum will invite executives from world-renowned product design and manufacturing companies to introduce the way their organizations move toward green environment. Mr. Daniel M. Cheng will be on stage as one of the invited speakers.

    The forum will last for half a day and a total of 3 speakers coming from different sectors will give a comprehensive picture on the green product development, green policy and green concepts for idea generation to all audiences.
