Call for Papers

Introduction

The annual conference aims to open an opportunity for IIE (HK) members to overview the latest contemporary international research efforts in the development of Industrial Engineering.  Moreover, ACIIE (HK) also provides a platform for industrialists to share their experiences and concerns with academic and research community.  With the theme "Exploring the Knowledge Pyramid of Industrial Engineering", the conference will be taken place at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University during 29-30 May 2008.  We would like to invite papers contributing to the following areas:

Paper Submission

The manuscript must be written in English using MS Word and the format requirements can be downloaded from the following website:

Please send your paper, not more than 12 pages and on or before 25 April 2008, to Mr. Peter Lau at:

All submissions will go through a peer-reviewing process before final acceptance for oral presentation at the Conference.  All accepted papers would be published in the Industrial Engineering Research - An International Journal of IE Theory (ISSN 1027-2208) or the IIE (HK) Annual Journal (ISSN 1609-3208).  Some selected papers related to teaching and learning will be considered for publication in a special issue of the International Journal of Technology and Design Education (ISSN 0957-7572, SCI journal).

Registration Fee

The registration fee covers: a volume of conference proceedings (available at the event), a special issue of the Journal (during or after the event), tea breaks, lunches, and a conference dinner.  In order to accommodate more participants, at least one author must register for oral presentation of one accepted paper.
