With the help of the Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management Department of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the first membership drive for academic institutions for this school year was held in HKUST on 25th October 2006. During the drive Mr. Harry Li, the Chairman of Membership and Scholarship of IIE(HK), gave a short speech to the students to explain the benefits of joining our society in various aspects so that they could gain extra knowledge and experience in the IE field that could give them an edge in their career after graduation.
We will continue our membership drives for academic institutions to all universities in Hong Kong during the school year to recruit more new-blood to our society.
